Our property places you at the heart of Keralam's storied backwater country, just moments from the iconic Chinese fishing nets (Cheena Vala). These unique cantilevered nets — believed to have been introduced by the entourage of Chinese explorer Zheng He in the 14th century — cast their graceful silhouettes over the waters at dawn and dusk, a sight our guests treasure deeply.

Fishing Nets
The Cheena Vala (Chinese fishing nets) are one of Keralam's most recognisable symbols. These fixed land-based lever fishing nets require a team of fishermen to operate, using counterweights to dip enormous nets into the sea. Located just 3 km from Vyga Heritage, they date back to the 14th century.
Guests can witness this ancient practice at sunrise and sometimes even participate — buying the morning's fresh catch directly from the fishermen for an unforgettable farm-to-table moment.
